We Can Not Go Back

We Can Not Go Back

WW11SoldierWithSistersRevAll morning I have seen post and tweets about the half time show at the Super Bowl and how different groups of people have been mistreated in some form or another.

I’ve read blogs about how white people have no business applauding the cause of non-whites because their ancestors mistreated others. But, the fact is, many white people do not have an ancestry of hatred. Whites were not the only ones involved in the atrocities we read about in history.

All of this talk only agitates both sides of the issue. No one wins!

One reason no one wins is because we are so busy picking sides and placing blame that we are not seeing what is really happening. The enemy is dividing us and a house divided will not stand.

We need to focus on what unites us. All of us desire opportunities for our family to prosper and live according to our convictions. This type of cohabitation among a diversified group can only take place when we allow God to guide us.

A world of peace and equality will never exist here on earth. It has not since the beginning of time. Equality is found at the foot of the cross alone. We are all equal in God’s eyes.

But, even God does not hold us responsible for what another person does. We may have to live with the consequences of the actions of another. But, we are not responsible for what others have done in the past or will do in the future.

We are responsible, however, for our own actions. All of us have the responsibility going forward to treat people the way that Jesus would. Jesus was accepting of all but he also spoke the Truth in love.

Jesus did not tell them you will fix things by going back. He told them to go “now” and sin no more.

I am sorry others have suffered. I am sorry they suffer now. But going back simply to place blame and pick sides will not bring about what deep down everyone wants, and that is to be accepted and loved as they are. Only the love of Jesus can do that.

“By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:35 NKJV

  1. Wonderfully said mom. We need to reunite not separate in hatred. Jesus commanded us to love one another and that is not based on color or where you come from it is said love thy neighbor.
